Rod Caborn’s details his 1914 Federal League replay

Prolific APBA replayer Rod Caborn reports on his recently finished 1914 Federal League project. As always, his documentation is exemplary. You can read it all here.

Short story: the Baltimore Terrapins took first place thanks to hurler Jack Quinn… but read Rod’s version. It’s so much pleasant.

Take some time to read his “1914 replay background and guidelines” section and the “Personal Notes” section. For me, that really adds some helpful hints that (potential) replayers might find useful.

Great job, Rod!!

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as a frequent participant of the Chicagoland APBA Tournament. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.

  1. Thank you for this post. This is an amazing recap. Makes me realize that I need to level up my replay recaps. So glad that there are people putting in this kind of effort into their replays.

  2. Wow ! So cool and so fast!! 5 years and counting for my replay. Awesome write ups too. I like the stats on how long the replay took and when started etc.

    • Cool! I have always liked doing season replays. I am a history nut, and
MLB is so historical. I have replayed the 19271961,2011,2017seasons
with Abpa computer baseball game. I am just about finished with the
2016 season. I am also replaying the 1921 season, and the 1963 season. So far the outcomes have been pretty true to form. I failed
to get the yanks to the ’61 World Series. They finished 2.5 games
in back of the Tigers. I am a huge Dodgers fan, as well a Sandy Koufax fan. The ’63 team is heavy on pitching, but not much on
offense. I am 45 games into the season, and the Dodgers are 4
games out of first. Another thing I like is to play with the advanced
injuries option. That really adds to the realism. Thanks APBA for
such a great game. Now if you would only come out with APBA
footall for the computer. Thanks again, Edmeister
