To celebrate the announcement of the pending induction of Larry Walker to the Baseball Hall of Fame, Pastor Rich Zawadzki sent me this 1999 APBA card of the Colorado Rockies slugger.
Canadian Walker was humble till the end. Fortunately for him, he was wrong, too.
Walker won the trifecta in averages in 1999 leading the NL in batting, OBP and slugging with marks of .379/.458/.710 respectively. He hit 37 homers and surpassed the century mark in runs (108) and rbis (115).

I agree. Also, I always like those positive numbers on dice rolls which are normally associated with outs… like 24-14.
Other notes
- Walker has a 62-42 based on 12 hit-by pitches.
- He is fast and a OF-3 as he was for most of his career.
- I just realized both Larry and I both have two middle names. We’re practically twins!

Nice article on the new Hall of Famer! His 1997 card is even better than his 1999 card. 200+ hits, 99 EBH, .363 avg., 409 total bases, Fast OF-3, and 33 stolen bases! One of the best all-around cards of the last 40 years.
