Prairieland V APBA Tournament March 28th!

Prairieland is five years old!

APBA philosopher Eric Berg is taking the reins as organizer and here are the details…

  • Location: Ramada Inn Springfield, Illinois
  • Date: March 28th 9am
  • Cost: $20.00
  • Theme: Illinois pride!

Here’s a rundown of theme:

Two round draft.

Round one: select a player that was born in the state of Illinois. You must pick a specific year.

Round two: select a team from the franchise your Illinois player played for the year you drafted him.
Teams from 1920-2019. No World Series teams.

Example: the 2010 Jim Thome is drafted. He’s a Minnesota Twin. Round two must be a Twins team (No Senators, straight team selection) between 1961 and 2019. 1965, 1987, and 1991 are ineligible because they are World Series teams for the Twins. Once Thome is taken, he’s off the board.

Game rules posted later.

See the fun we have at Prairieland tourneys!

Thomas Nelshoppen

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as a frequent participant of the Chicagoland APBA Tournament. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.
