Y’all know Kevin Weber. He writes articles for The APBA Blog including the insanely popular Final Card Friday column. Now, Kevin has a new podcast in addition to Double Take which he does with his brother, Kirk Weber.
Now, Kevin has a new podcast. His new one is called The Hammer An Umpire Podcast. Kevin is a legit umpire and has taken his love of umpiring and the game of baseball to the mike.
I finally got around to listening to The Hammer today and found it very interesting. Kevin intersperses news of the profession, history and yes, rules and regulations of the game of baseball in his podcast. He encourages listener partipation so send him an email or even a voicemail (maybe it will get played on the show!).
I know more than a few umpires so I found this podcast interesting. Some of it is geared towards umpires but I don’t mind getting out of my comfort zone and learning a bit. Disclaimer: I am also NOT an umpire-hater. I watch college baseball games up close (well, I WOULD be under normal circumstances) so I understand what they go through. I like my hometown head coach but these umps do put up with a lot.
If you’re interested in Kevin’s podcast, The Hammer, you can subscribe with most podcast readers or at Anchor.com.
Keep up the good work, Kevin! I really enjoyed the rules quiz!
