Ben Lofgren steers 2019 ‘Stros to TCABT XIII win

To be sure, attendance was low in these COVID-19 days but the Twin Cities APBA Baseball Tournament went on as planned… sort of. The normally April tournament was delayed a few months. Masked and mostly socially-distant, there were 13 entrants on August 8th, 2020 and it was held at the Shakopee Community Youth Center.

Jim Fraasch has a great write-up on his blog, Jim’s APBA Barn. When all was done, it was Ben Lofgren who was left standing with his 2019 Houston Astros. He defeated the 1910 Athletics managed by Dave Norlander.

Looking at the results, I’m amazed the 1995 Indians and the 1985 Expos had a combined 0-17 record for the tourney!

Congrats to Ben on a thrilling (and hopefully safe) TCABT win!

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as a frequent participant of the Chicagoland APBA Tournament. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.
