Ron Emch sent out a recap on his tourney this past weekend. Thirty-six participants attended the Glass City APBA Baseball-VII. When it was all finished, John Duke was left standing. John managed the 1949 Red Sox and from the looks of it, he had a tough road facing some great teams and formidable managers.
It came down to Eric Zawadzki and the 1985 Mets in the finals. Eric had just bested his dad, Pastor Rich in the semi-finals and had momentum but John defeated him two games out of three.
Rich and Eric weren’t the only family members who attended. Five families were represented at GCABT-VII. According to Ron, tournament attendees came from Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and even Arizona.
Here is a little bit of the action courtesy of Ron:
You can read a full recap of GCABT-VII on Ron’s website. It’s full of highlights, photos and interesting info.
Congratulations to John Duke! John, by the way, is a two-time tourney winner at the National APBA Convention AND an APBA Hall of Famer. He has winning in his blood.
Ron Emch runs a fun and easy going tournament in Toledo. He is a treasure to the APBA community. Another Glass City tourney is planned for the 2023 season.
