Unlucky APBA Dice Guy: this happened to me with Descalso…

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as a frequent participant of the Chicagoland APBA Tournament. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.

  1. Maybe you can look foward to him hitting like this next year.

    • I like where you’re going with this, Mike. :)

In truth though, I do like Descalso. Yeah, he hit .227 but he played three or four positions. He’ll back me up at a few of those.

Kind of like a Miguel Cairo or a Felipe Lopez type. More valuable to an APBA league team than his stats tell.

  2. “umlucky APBA Dice Guy:” — I thought from the title that this was addressed to DonS. Or to Mike. Unarguably the two worst “dice-rollers” in ILLOWA League.

In our 9 game series in July, neither of us had a pitcher reduced. Hard to reduce guys when I roll 62, 23 & 46. Mike has his own set of favorite dice rolls. They aren’t any better than mine.

Mike & I play again in the season finale in January. Prepare for another series featuring much “3 up and 3 down.”

    DonS.
