Rod Caborn sends us an update on the 2011 Orlando APBA Association draft which occurred on January 22nd.
Pictured above: Walt Taylor (Whatevers) Steven Korb (Turfbeaters) and Dave Larson (Taz Devils) go over their plans at the 2011 OAPBA Draft.
The Orlando APBA Association (OAPBA) has moved into its 24th season with 2011 play already underway in sunny Central Florida.
For 2011, the league has added an expansion franchise, Jonathan Stillwell’s Otters, and split into three three-team divisons. The league will play an 80-game schedule in 2011 with each division winner making the playoffs, along with the team with the fourth-best record (wild card entry) and a “play-in” series between the wild card and the team with the fifth-best record. The three divisions are the Red Barber Division (north Orlando are), Harry Caray Division (Orlando downtown metro area) and the Ernie Harwell Divison (south Orlando area).
thanks for the photo too, Rod.
aside from the faces and the name on the white board (and perhaps the mlb logos :)), it looks just like our league get togethers :)
Zealot,
You mean they also have manegers who draft when they are drunk?
DonS.
@Don
LOL, that’s what’s different. Our league photo would have empty beer bottles strewn all over. :)
