This 1949 Ed Sanicki card comes courtesy of Jim Fraasch. Jim has just completed the Twin Cities APBA Baseball Tournament XI! I’ll be posting about this soon but if you can’t wait, head over to Jim’s APBA Barn. Jim will be posting about it soon.
Ed Sanicki must have felt “what do I have to do” when he was not brought back for the 1950 season. Ed went 3 for 13 in the last two weeks of 1949 but here’s the thing… all three hits went yard.
Split | G | GS | PA | AB | R | H | 2B | 3B | HR | RBI | SB | BB | SO | BA | OBP | SLG |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1949 Totals | 7 | 3 | 15 | 13 | 4 | 3 | 0 | 0 | 3 | 7 | 0 | 1 | 4 | .231 | .286 | .923 |
Sanicki gets four ones and (a curious) 44-5. His card is also graced with two 8s and a 9.
Sanicki returned in 1951 for a cup of coffee and even went 2 for 4 at the beginning of season. I guess that still didn’t satisfy the Phils.
Thanks Jim and congrats on another successful tourney!
