Tabletop games blog features APBA baseball

Rolling Dice Taking Names has a feature article on APBA Baseball.  It’s a “look-back-to-yesteryear” piece describing what it was like before fantasy baseball took over the baseball recreation scene.

And yes, I believe I still have a copy of those cardboard playing boards.  As for those red discs.. ehhh.

I encourage the author who looks so fondly back at his days at playing this dice game to give it a try again.  There are plenty of us who still play it.

Who knows?  It might be as fun as you remember it!

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as a frequent participant of the Chicagoland APBA Tournament. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.

  1. I have the big white boards still…believe I purchased the game back in 1973. Sure those boards are out of date but really liked them over using the booklet. Not much into baseball anymore so have it stored away….
