I finally got around to updating the Illowa APBA League website. It pales compared to some of the league websites I’ve seen (there are some fantastic ones out there!) but the relevant info is up for you to see.
The biggest updates I’ve made are to the all-time registry and leaderboards. Most of the info and links can be found in this summary. I’ve updated the 1975-2013 stats registry which you can find here.
My favorite part of the whole process is updating the league leaderboards. All-time career and single season hitting leaders are here. You can find the pitching leaders here.
We had plenty of players climbing the career top ten leaders on both sides. Workhorse Livan Hernandez is making his bid for the Hall of Fame by virtue of just playing a long time. He’s on the top ten lists for seven different pitching categories (albeit two are walks and losses). Derek Jeter who may have played his last season in the IAL, finished 2013 with 2970 hits, the all-time leader. He’s eligible to be dropped for the 2014 season.
Two players made the single season top ten lists. Justin Verlander barely cracked the ERA list at #10 with his 2.00 ERA in 2013. It helped his career ERA record as he his now #5 all-time with a 3.53 mark. That’s pretty impressive considering that most of the pitchers on the list are from the 70s and early 80s.
Not so impressive was the other appearance on the single season records in 2013. Danny Espinosa whiffed 187 times good for sixth all-time. Manager Mike Bunch must be proud.
Good work. Nice display of the stats. I too have a great time our own lifetime stats. It strikes me as weird that in the RCMBA, Derek Jeter’s total hits are just six less than in your league.
I am always impressed when someone has a lifetime stats list. I only have 2 full seasons done, but am thinking I will need someone to help me set one up soon. Any suggestions on how to go about this?
The way I keep our RCMBA stats is in Excel. All the stats are always in same columns so it will sort properly and easy to apply sum formula’s. I have hitters in two separate sheets for both hitters and pitchers. One is lifetime total. The other is a year by year list. Like on back of baseball card.
