Steve Stein passed on the link to this year’s Transcontinental Baseball League’s annual publication “The TBL Baseball Annual: The Youth Movement”. It’s quite a production and a good read for any serious league member just so you have something to aspire to.
The TBL Baseball Annual is edited by TBL managers Walter Hunt (remember him?) and Mark Bloom but it’s pretty obvious that many of the managers have contributed to its success. The TBL Annual also analyzes each team using the T.Q. System.
My takeaway from the Annual? I knew the TBL was a long standing league going on 33 years. Looking at the manager roster, I am impressed by the lack of turnover in the league. Three managers have been in the league for 30+ years and a total of eight have been in for at least 25 seasons. Even relative newbie Steve Stein has been in for 12. That’s pretty impressive in my opinion.
Reading through the TBL Annual brings me back to the days when I bought NFL Prologue or similar baseball mags and pored through them as a kid.
Great job by Walter, Mark and the rest of the TBL!
Thanks Tom. We do a print edition too; if you’d like to hold in your hands, send me a private email with your postal address and we’ll get you one.
Hey Walt,
Great stuff! Required reading for anyone who runs a league.
I do all my reading online so don’t bother. Thanks anyway!
I got a shout out in the recent APBA mailing – I sent a copy of the print book to John Herson. How cool is that?
As well you should. Very cool!
