Terribles vs Monsters poll: Vote for Terribles Outfielders!

We’re down to the wire with my Monsters vs Terribles project  (more info here).  My “winter” project is turning into a spring project but that’s ok.

This will be the last poll for the Terribles team.  And since we’re doing the outfielders so I’m giving you three votes.

Of the twelve candidates, six are from the 1960s decade.  There are a couple who can power up a little up and some with speed but not many who have much in terms of batting average.

Each player’s name is linked to his original Terrible Card Tuesday article written about him and his APBA card associated with it.

Here are the candidates:

By the way, the vote for Monsters 3B went to 1980 George Brett.  It wasn’t even close.  He got 71% of the vote among the four candidates.

Here are the updated starting rosters for both teams so far:

Terribles Monsters
Catcher 1967 Johnny Bench 1931 Josh Gibson
Firstbase 2011 Adam Dunn 1927 Lou Gehrig
Secondbase 1964 Joe Morgan 1922 Rogers Hornsby
Shortstop 1978 Mike Fischlin 1982 Robin Yount
Thirdbase 1905 Offa Neal 1980 George Brett

Coming soon…the last poll, the Monster outfielders.  Also, pitching selection announcements.   I’m still taking more nominations for Terrible pitchers.

thanks all!

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as a frequent participant of the Chicagoland APBA Tournament. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.

One Comment:

  1. My favorite Rick Monday Moment happened on a baseball field but was not directly related to baseball

    I’ll bet yours is too.

A great play by a true Hero.
