A couple “streaky” updates from my friend John Brandeberry who is replaying the 1930 season:
Johnny Frederick of the Brooklyn Dodgers got a hit in his final at bat to extend his hitting streak to 48 games.
In the American League Al Simmons has a 42 game hitting streak. In 87 games the Philadelphia A’s left fielder is batting .419 and has driven in 132 runs.
Simmons doesn’t surprise me but Frederick, Wow! 48 games!
