Streaky 1930 replay

A couple “streaky” updates from my friend John Brandeberry who is replaying the 1930 season:

Johnny Frederick of the Brooklyn Dodgers got a hit in his final at bat to extend his hitting streak to 48 games.

In the American League Al Simmons has a 42 game hitting streak.  In 87 games the Philadelphia A’s left fielder is batting .419 and has driven in 132 runs.

Simmons doesn’t surprise me but Frederick, Wow!  48 games!

Also, for those of you not on Facebook, I’ve been posting baseball related photos from my vacation.  They’re publically viewable so if you’re interested, take a look.

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as a frequent participant of the Chicagoland APBA Tournament. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.

One Comment:

  1. I always wanted to do a 1930 replay–first old season I ever bought–but the offensive numbers would always be so out of whack after playing even a month of games that I got discouraged. Always wondered what would happen in George Puccenelli (spelling?) was given a whole season of abs
