Welcome to The APBA Blog!
The APBA Blog began in 2008 as a project of mine with the help of a few members of the Illowa APBA League. The IAL is a ten-team league that play the basic version of the APBA baseball game. The IAL was founded in 1975 has quite a history. No doubt, you will hear some of our doings in this blog.
Let me emphasize that I continue to envision this as a community driven project. To that end, if anyone has an idea for a forum or article, run it by us and maybe we can post it. Also, do not be shy about making commenting on our articles. The more feedback, the better, in my opinion.

What a great site. Your Blog about Dom was spot on. I will be visiting here regularly.
Does anyone have a good Great American Ballpark backdrop with the meeeting rooms finished in CF I might have?
I love APBA. I have the new football game (my old one from 1969 was stolen outside my door when the USPS left it there when sent to me by my brother). I am wondering: Are the old cards, such as those available on e-bay, compatible with the new game and charts. It seems I heard or read that before a certain year they are not.
Kline, the “new” football game first arrived in 1983 for the 1982 season — it was a basic/master game with all the rules bundled together. The game was modified into a more basic game for the mid- to late ’90s, then reverted to the ’80s master boards before the current version of the master game was issued in the late 2000s. So any cards from 1982 onward will be generally compatible with either version of the master game from 1982 onward. Anything prior to the 1981 season should be played on the old-style “big boards” from the ’50s-’70s.
Here’s a general breakdown of the eras of the game. There were several modifications in the results boards in the ’60s and ’70s as well, so I’ve come to advise people to find the boards as close to their season set as possible for the most accuracy:

Four times i typed in a very thoughtful message with several questions and each time the code I typed in was declared “invalid” and the form cleared, forcing me to do it over…………and…………..over…………..and………..over. Very frustrating. Can you either give clear instructions on typing in the code – such as spacing in between the letters and numbers and can you please, please, please set it up so that if one makes a mistake in typing in the code the entire form is not cleared, forcing some diligent person to type it all over again. Can you just write to me so I can ask you my questions. I just wasted 20 minutes or more toying with your message box.
Hi Steven,
Yes. I received all four of your messages tonight. I will be responding to them.
Thanks for contacting The APBA Blog!
Before hitting “send” or, really doing anything else, I copy the whole message. This applies to all sites.
Yep, Steven, been there, done that.
Just came across your blog. Played APBA from 1964-2008. I have some old sets and checked out ebay. Hard to figure out what to sell and pricing. Single card sales? Not like selling an old guitar. Any feedback would be appreciated. I visited there twice. On my way to the first visit Elvis Presley died

Is there a team roster list yet of the 2020 XC baseball cards for the upcoming release?
Truly excellent and very well done, Gentlemen. I’ve utilized this resource countless times – particularly soliciting APBA Journal Mods and long standing League Mods (e.g. the Clemente Memorial League Mods). For ideological reasons, I’m no longer a Facebook or YouTube afficionado, but engaging the community here is pleasurable. Hear! Hear! and keep up the fine work. Cheers!
