APBA Game Company releases 2022 baseball carded list

This week, the APBA Game Company released the 2022 baseball carded list. In other words, while we are still waiting to see what the cards look like, we now know WHO will be getting a card.

Here is a direct link to the list of players on the APBA website. As in the past, there are 30 players per team.

This announcement is especially big for continuous-ownership APBA leagues. Managers in leagues have been awaiting news which players will be receiving cards. Those who do not receive a card may be considered “retired” in some leagues like the league I am in, the Illowa APBA League.

Other leagues might handle it differently. If yours does it a different way, I’d love to hear about it.

For the record

The position player with lowest amount of plate appearances who got a card was a tie. Both Cam Gallagher and Matt Beaty received a 2022 card with 47 PA.

Manuel Rodriguez had the lowest amount of innings among non-hybrid players. Rodriguez pitched only 13 2/3 innings and received a card.

For those anxious to see the actual cards, it won’t be long! The APBA Game Company plans to release the 2022 APBA GO season in late November. APBA GO provides the opportunity to see each card and all the ratings.

I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as a frequent participant of the Chicagoland APBA Tournament. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.

  1. Hello, I really enjoy your blog. I was wondering if you play APBA Hockey? I’m having a really hard time understanding this game. It’s taken me nearly two hours just to play one period. Do you think you could help me out?

    Thank you,
    David
