APBA’s 2009 baseball cards by the numbers

I’m getting  a good look at the numbers for the 2009 APBA Baseball disk file today.  I thought I’d play around a bit and break it down number-wise.  After some sorting and filtering, here is the 2009 set by the numbers.

Today, I’m strictly looking at the position players.   Maybe tomorrow, I’ll break down the pitchers.

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as a frequent participant of the Chicagoland APBA Tournament. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.

7 Comments:

  1. We Boston fans know… Looks like Jesus, behaves like Judas, throws like Mary.

  2. haha hadn’t heard that before.

  3. Woo hoo! I have the fastest Molina brother on my team. :)

    Thanks for the summary.

  4. I play in 2 leagues and have 2 of the 3 nine catchers, one in each league. mauer in 1 and Y Molina the speed demon in the other.

  5. BZ – it made more sense when he was with the Red Sox and was allowed to grow his hair out.

  6. In your breakdown of the best and worst fielders, I’m assuming you left it out because i haven’t seen one in decades, but 6 is the highest thirdbaseman rating. i’ve only seen two in all the games i’ve played. I think brooks robinson was a six once.
