Here’s your average 2009 APBA baseball card

Meet Mr 2009 of APBA Baseball.

For each dice roll number on the card, I’ve determined the most common result number using the card data from all the position players in both leagues.  Then I made a composite card out of it.

This card won’t win any MVP awards, that’s for sure.

I gave him an OF-2 since there were more players with that rating than any other (save pitchers).  There were 105 OF-2s in the 2009 set.

I even toyed with calling him Young since I believe that was the most prevalent surname (don’t quote me on that).

I was a bit surprised on the 35-13 and the 42-13 quite honestly.  I guess the XBs and other bench players lowered the standard.

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as a frequent participant of the Chicagoland APBA Tournament. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.

  1. aubrey huff is the closest match in the set to mr. john doe, with the same 0-0-0-8-8-8-8-9-9, 3 14s, 2×24. huff’s card has 3 deviations from doe in the first column (21-30, 35-37, 42-22, all replacing 13s) and 5 in the second column (31-1, 35-3, 41-6, 51-1, 61-5).

  2. Good catch, bruinskip.

    Amazing how close he is.
