This is last I think in a series from Scott Fennessy from 1993. It’s first baseman Dave Staton from the San Diego Padres.
In 1993, Staton came to bat 46 times for the Pads and hit five homers. That pretty much sums up his value. He did hit three doubles and was walked three times. He was hit by a pitch and grounded into two double plays.
Split | G | PA | AB | R | H | 2B | 3B | HR | RBI | SB | BB | SO | |||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1993 Totals | 17 | 46 | 42 | 7 | 11 | 3 | 0 | 5 | 9 | 0 | 3 | 12 | .262 | .326 | .690 |
Staton is slow and a 1B-2. He has four 24s. So you better hit one of his power numbers (1-1-1-6-6) because that’s where the money’s at.
Fun numbers: 33-1, 44-6
I’ll betcha Dave Staton has a pretty interesting follow-up card for 1994 too. He hit .182 but knocked out four homers in 66 at-bats for the Padres. On top of that, he grounded into three DPs.
