When I claimed last week that Christian Yelich and Cody Bellinger had the two best APBA GO cards among full timers in the 2019 set, my old time friend Dom Provisiero had an opinion on that. He asked me to take a look at Mike Trout’s card. You know what? Dom had a point!
With 45 homeruns and a .291 average, the Angels’ Trout led the AL in OBP (.438) and slugging (.645).
Split | G | PA | AB | R | H | 2B | 3B | HR | RBI | SB | BB | SO | BA | OBP | SLG |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
2019 Totals | 134 | 600 | 470 | 110 | 137 | 27 | 2 | 45 | 104 | 11 | 110 | 120 | .291 | .438 | .645 |
Yes, Trout has a 55-8 as well but with that comes six 14s plus a 42. Trout’s second column is also much tastier than Bellinger’s with seven second column ones.
He will get to that second column often too with power numbers 1-1-0-0-0.
Trout won’t have a 15 speed number despite stealing 11 bases. I think that Trout’s eight 11s in the second column work out just right though.
And of course, Trout is fast and is an OF-3 like Yelich and Bellinger.
thanks for the suggestion, Dom!
I’d take any of those 3!
In looking at these 2019 cards I have an observation. A .300 average doesn’t get you the card it used to. How does that Mike Trout card hit .291?
