This will probably be the last 2022 Monster Card for a while. I don’t want to post the whole season, you know.
This one is worth it, though. In his first year with LA, Freddie Freeman thrived. Yes, his homeruns were down (31 to 21) but his slugging percentage actually jumped a few points from .503 to .511.
That’s mostly because Freddie hit .325 for the season. Bolstered by 84 walks, he led the NL with a .407 OBP.
All told, he led his league in plate appearances (708), runs scored (117), hits (199), doubles (47) and the aforementioned OBP.
Split | G | GS | PA | AB | R | H | 2B | 3B | HR | RBI | SB | BB | SO | BA | OBP | SLG |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
2022 Totals | 159 | 159 | 708 | 612 | 117 | 199 | 47 | 2 | 21 | 100 | 13 | 84 | 102 | .325 | .407 | .511 |
Freddie Freeman played a lot. I mean a LOT. He appeared in 159 games and started in every one of them. And yeah, he’s rated as a 1B-5 in every one of them.
Freeman got one of those cards that are easy to gloss over. Looking at it again, there isn’t he can’t do. He can field, hit (55-7), hit for some power, and definitely some gap power (power number 1-0-0-0). He even can steal with a 15-10.
Freeman received four 14s and an equal amount of 13s just like last week’s Monster Card Yordan Alvarez. He also gets a 61-22 thanks to being plunked five times.
One of those 13s is on 41 so that means no 24s for Freddie.
I admit to being a Freddie Freeman fan. That’s because he has always done well against me in our league. I can respect greatness when I see it.
