No doubt, Andruw Jones had seen better days. Somehow Atlanta had looked into the crystal ball and didn’t re-sign him in 2007 after he hit 26 homers and drove in 94 runs.
Well, the Dodgers snapped him up thinking he could revive his .222 batting average and get the superstar he once was. Wow, were they ever wrong. Andruw’s batting average sunk to a paltry .158 in 2008. To make matters worse, he only hit three homers in 209 at-bats that year. He drove in 14 runs on 33 hits.
It was also the first year since 1997 that he didn’t get the Gold Glove award.

Give Jones his due… he retained his OF-3 at least. Outside of that, he really went downhill. His two zeros with eight second column ones are the extent of his homerun power. Andruw has a rare 8-8-9 hit number combination.
Jones does have four 14s but they are mostly in places you wouldn’t expect 15, 55, 25 plus the usual 45. This was the first year in his career that he had no steals so no 10s or 11s anywhere.
Ugly numbers: 55-14. 51-13, 31-40
Andruw did pick it up a little in the next few years playing in the American League. He never hit for average but did hit double digit homers for the next four seasons before he retired.
