Ryan Lavarnway’s rookie APBA card in 2012 was kind of a stinker.
Lavarnway batted just .157 in 166 plate appearances for Boston though he did have eight doubles and two homeruns. No steals for Ryan and he struck out 41 times.

2012 Totals | 46 | 41 | 166 | 153 | 11 | 24 | 8 | 0 | 2 | 12 | 0 | 11 | 41 | .157 | .211 | .248 |
I’ll say this, if your roster is depleted and you need some power off the bench, Lavarnway might do the trick. He has power numbers 0-0-0 with five 1s in the second column. But if you’re looking for a base hit to drive in a run from second, you may want to look elsewhere. He has no 7s and hit numbers 8-8-9 instead of the usual 8-8-8-9-9 combination.
That gives him an ugly 51-13.
Ugly numbers: 51-13, 15-36, 25-36
Where is Lavarnway now? Last year, he went 0 for 10 with Boston. This year with Baltimore, he’s hitting a nifty .107 (3 for 28) proving that catchers are always in demand.
I saw him play. He wasn’t as good as this card.
