Terrible Card Tuesday: 2018 Chris Davis

While there are plenty of nasty cards in the new APBA baseball set, none have do it for 522 plate appearances except for firstbaseman Chris Davis of the Baltimore Orioles. Yikes!

In 128 games and 470 at-bats, Crush hit .168 while striking out 192 times.  While he did hit 16 homeruns, his .296 slugging percentage didn’t even crack .300.

The two-time HR champ does have a 66-1 as his saving grace and may be the only thing going for him in 2018.  Well, let’s give him credit for his 1B-4 defensive rating too.

Davis’ hit numbers are 1-6-8-8-9-9.  He gets a 15-14 and a 31-37, folks.  APBA throws him a bone with a 51-22 for his seven hit by pitches.  After that, it’s no more offense for Davis.

He also has a total of eleven 13s which still seems a bit low to me.  He has four 13s in a row from 61 to 64.  To top things off, Davis will need to take it easy on the basepaths.  He’s rated as a Slow baserunner.

Any Chris Davis owners out there among APBA league players?  Good luck!

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as a frequent participant of the Chicagoland APBA Tournament. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.

  1. And to think there was an everyday player with a worse card than Matt Weiters.
