Akeem Ayers missed the team bus [update: he wasn’t the only one]

Apparently, Tennessee Titan Akeem Ayers was too big to fit in the team envelope.  Or more likely, he was too slow.  At any rate, his card was missing from the 2011 APBA Football set that was just released.

Not to worry, here is a pdf of the official Ayers’ APBA card that will tide you over until you get the real thing.

The new print release will also have Ayers card.  APBA CEO John Herson says that if you send a self-addressed stamped envelope to the Company, they will get you the new card.

Here is the address from APBA’s Contact Page:

Update:  Apparently, three other players (Julian Edelman, David Akers, and Jarret Johnson) were also missing as well.  They are all now included on the downloadable pdf.

I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as a frequent participant of the Chicagoland APBA Tournament. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.

  1. UPDATE: In addition to the missing Akeem Ayers card, APBA has also posted cards for Julian Edelman, David Akers and Jarret Johnson — with corrected copyright lines, as well. Download them from a single PDF here.
