Chicagoland Summer APBA World Series Tournament Update

A few updates on the Chicagoland Summer APBA World Series Tournament in Woodstock, Illinois on July 19th (details here).

Special guest?

New tournament participant Bradd Romant asked if he could bring his dad.  Sure, why not?  By the way, Bradd did inform us that his father is Robert Edward Romant aka Robb Edwards who is the public address announcer at Miller Park.  Wow!

You can read a little on Robb Edwards here.

With a little cajoling perhaps Robb could be convinced to announce the lineups for the championship game.  What a treat!

Tournament Prizes

Aside from the traveling trophy, The APBA Blog is donating a few small items to the prize bounty.  I just got the package yesterday.  The organizers can decide who gets what but I’m donating a coffee mug and a travel mug with the “Keep Calm and Roll Sixty-Sixes” slogan on it.

They’ll be free stickers too as long as they last.

Tournament T-Shirt

I thought it would be fun to create a T-Shirt for the Tournament.  I created a design and ran it by a few people and this what came of it.  If you’re interested, go and order one.  You can order here it from Zazzle.  Just make sure to specify your shirt size.  If you want it in time for the tournament, order soon to give time for delivery.

Really looking forward to this!

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as a frequent participant of the Chicagoland APBA Tournament. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.
