2nd Chicagoland APBA World Series Tournament!!!!!

Need a show of hands people!
Jim Saska has reserved the conference room at the Woodstock Public Library for….

Sat., November 16, 2013
9 AM to 5 PM
Woodstock Public Library
Woodstock, IL

Just steps from the town square where Groundhog Day was filmed.

It’s happening again! Just like the movie! ONLY this time I won’t smash the alarm clock, I just won’t pitch to Hal McRae!
Please chime in!

Doug fills us in on a few more of the tournament details:

Basic game yes, hope that doesn’t turn advanced folks away from an awesome time!

Any team yes, just not one of your dream teams Rich, LOL!

DH vs pitcher; we rolled for home field at the last tournament and then the home team picked. When it came down to 77 KC and 83 CWS it was pretty obvious we were gonna use DH. If we get a healthy number of guys, randomly create pools then round robin and take top 2 for brackets. We can play w this based on how many commit.

3 man rotation

We said all pitchers are grade D to start the 12th inning but this never was a factor. Let me know how this sounds and other suggestions!

If you’re interested in participating in the 2nd Chicagoland APBA World Series Tournament, let please Doug Schuyler know.  You can either leave a comment on his Facebook invite post or just comment below and I’m sure he’ll see it.

Barring any schedule snafus, I’ll be attending and I know my buddy Brando is interested too.  I’m looking forward to it!!

Thomas Nelshoppen

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as a frequent participant of the Chicagoland APBA Tournament. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.

2 Comments:

  1. If I still lived in woodstock I would but no way to get there from here in Rockford since I don’t drive because of disability.

  2. John Brandeberry

There must be some restictions on the team we pick, otherwise I might go with the 1930 Philadelphia A’s
