Some info on the 2012 APBA Convention

There will be an APBA convention this year.  It’s being billed as the “2012 Convention for APBA Fans: Celebration of Heritage” and will be held in Lancaster, PA.  It’s not clear to me who all is organizing it other than Francis Rose who says he is helping out.

The quick details:

  • When:  July 20-22
  • Where:  Heritage Hotel Lancaster, Lancaster, PA
  • How much:  $75 ($85 after May 1)
  • Heritage Hotel Lancaster will offer a special rate of $109 per night for convention attendees.

For those who are interested in finding out more or registering for the convention, check out the convention website

I am attempting to get a quick Q&A with one of the organizers to find out more information.

Thomas Nelshoppen

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as a frequent participant of the Chicagoland APBA Tournament. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.

  1. I don’t know the APBA community that well, but the guy running it is named Nick something, goes by CTYANKEE12 on the delphi forum. I sent him a note saying you were wanting info.

  2. Dom tells me he’s part of a team of organizers putting together this year’s events.

  3. Dom, you’re holding out on me buddy. ;-)

I’ve already PMed Nick. Hopefully, he’ll get back to me.

  4. Up to more than 20 attendees, Francis says on BtL. Do you tend to see more last-minute attendees, or do most register by April?

  5. Hello, I have tons of baseball cards and want to know how or where I can sell them. Does anybody know? They are in top condition, many teams, etc. Can somebody let me know how I can sell them?

  6. George, eBay and the Adelphi classifieds (which hosts forums like the APBA-centric Between the Lines and The Corral), remain the two primary ways to sell. Craigslist also is an option, but more of a crapshoot. You can always go to the APBA Games or APBA Baseball forums on Facebook. Heck, even though I run the football page on FB (https://www.facebook.com/pages/APBA-Football/122368517834311), I might be interested. What have you got for sale?
