Steve Skoff and the 1912 Giants ride to victory at ‘12 Convention tourney

Congrats to Steve Skoff who won this year’s APBA Convention tournament with the help of the 1912 New York Giants!  The APBA Football Club has the coverage and photos on their Facebook page.  The photo of all the former tournament winners on hand is one for the annals!

Also, thanks to Geoff for the great coverage this past weekend.  I encourage everyone who hasn’t already to check out his write-ups, photos, and videos.

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as a frequent participant of the Chicagoland APBA Tournament. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.

  1. More than happy to do it any time, and my thanks to Francis and the whole gang for being so gracious as to allow me to pester them over the weekend; everyone was so willing to share their time and insights in the middle of all the excitement. I hope everyone enjoyed the updates. Itt even feels as though there’s a little more buzz about giving some time to football, as time-consuming as it is to play. Making my plans for Atlanta in June, although it’s right around my mother’s birthday.

Congratulations Steve……. He and I were in te same division Saturday and my opening series was against his 1912 Giants. I had a great time playing him and even managed to split the series with him!!!

  3. A little FYI. I’m currently re-playing the ’12 season and the Giants won a personal replay high 17 in a row in May. Tough team.

  4. Congrats to Steve, who knocked me out in the semi’s. He’s a good guy and a classy victor. This was my first tournament and I was impressed by how gracious and friendly everyone was. Looking forward to next year.
