Lots happening in world of APBA Football in this past week. As I mentioned earlier, the 2011 APBA Football season set just shipped. According to the APBA Football Club, the orders are beginning to reach the homes of the eagerly-awaiting fans. I don’t know about you football fans but some of us APBA Baseball fans call this a second Christmas. It’s like opening a present!
Also, the APBA Football Club have made the arrangements for the 2013 Gridiron Gathering, a convention devoted to APBA Football fans. Gridiron Gathering 2013 will be held in Canton, Ohio, home of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Geoffrey Giordano, the man with the plan, has come up with a web site for those who wish to register or find more information.
At his new site, Geoff says in a nutshell:
• Gaming time will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days, with summer-hours visitation of the exhibits available until 8 p.m. both days.
• We’re likely to book a block of rooms at the Comfort Inn Canton, which gets favorable reviews on Trip Advisor and is near the Hall. Breakfast and internet will be included in the group rate; we’ll finalize a block of rooms soon.
• We respectfully ask $40 for a single day’s attendance, $80 for both days.
• At present, we aim to feature all eras of the game in a loosely structured gaming environment. Please feel free to bring any teams, boards, charts, customizations you wish. As this is the inaugural event, there will surely be kinks to work out. The primary goal is to have a great time with the game we love in a high-profile venue that offers us a chance to show others why we’re so passionate about APBA.
Sounds fun! I’m almost tempted to go if my 2013 summer wasn’t already so busy.
