Happy Holidays from The APBA Blog!

This will probably be my last post until after the Christmas holiday.  I actually have a Monster Card Monday article that is queued up and will post automatically on Christmas Eve (we’ll see if that works).  In the spirit of Christmas, I won’t be a Scrooge and post a Terrible Card Tuesday article.  I don’t want coal in my stocking.

APBA is figuring into my holiday plans.  After first spending some time with my family in the NE Illinois area, I’ll be getting some Illowa APBA League action in.  While in the area, my friend Don Smith will be meeting me and we’ll get our nine-game series in.  That will be on the 26th which is Boxing Day.  We’ll soon find out who boxes who.

I had mentioned on The APBA Blog Facebook page that I had bought the APBA Golf game for my son (and let’s face it, me too) for Christmas.  I ordered it early last week so I was a little concerned about it coming in time but it came a couple days ago (thanks APBA!).  I’m excited.  In general, my son is not a sports fan but for some reason loves playing and watching golf.  I’m hoping this will be a fun thing for us to do together that won’t involve a game controller.

Anyway, I wish everyone a happy, safe and stress-free holiday season!  I value the friendships I’ve made throughout the years from this game and from this blog.

Happy Holidays!

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as a frequent participant of the Chicagoland APBA Tournament. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.

  2. If your son likes both playing and watching golf, then he is a sports fan, just a narrowly-focused one.

    Merry Christmas and Happy Rolling!

  3. I check in here often…and enjoy it. Thank you.
