Bryant goes numero uno in TBL draft

The best thing about this time of year… all of the league draft results that come in.  The RCMBA reported in last week and I’m getting ready for the IAL draft for next Friday.

But last weekend, it was the Transcontinental Baseball League’s time to shine.  They had their draft online and I even checked in for a few minutes.  Pretty awesome set up by Steve Stein.

Here are the top picks by the TBL:

1. Kris BRYANT (Las Vegas Gamblers)
2. Francisco LINDOR (Hoboken Zephyrs)
3. Carlos CORREA (Brobdingnag Barbarians)
4. Miguel SANO (Hudson Generals)
5. Corey SEAGER (Elders Of Zion)
6. Noah SYNDERGAARD (Calusa Indians)
7. Kyle SCHWARBER (Columbus Jets)
8. Addison RUSSELL (New West Whiskeyjacks)
9. Kevin PILLAR (Taylorville Red Raiders)
10. Maikel FRANCO (Maracaibo Rumrunners)
11. Joc PEDERSON (Northboro Phoenix)
12. Byron BUXTON (Brobdingnag Barbarians)
13. Blake SWIHART (The Statesmen)
14. J.T. REALMUTO (Rye Herons)
15. Luis SEVERINO (Kansas Koyotes)
16. Lance MCCULLERS (Blue Hill Mudslides)
17. Carlos RODON (Hoboken Zephyrs)
18. Taylor JUNGMANN (Taylorville Red Raiders)
19. Michael CONFORTO (Grand Cayman Havens)
20. Taijuan WALKER (Hudson Generals)
21. James MCCANN (Hoboken Zephyrs)
22. Raisel IGLESIAS (Calusa Indians)
23. Eduardo RODRIGUEZ (Gotham City Batmen)
24. Eddie ROSARIO (Midwest Mongrels)

Here are the full results for the 2016 TBL draft.  Steve Stein says that despite the nasty weather, they had a good turnout.

“The weather was dicey on Friday, but everyone who was coming finally got in. We had 18 of 26 owners present for the draft on a sunny Saturday in Milford MA.

Pillar so early was a shock. Picking at #11, we need lots of infield help and figured we’d get one of Russell or Franco, but they were both gone. That left Pederson, Conforto and some really good pitchers. We chose Pederson – surprised to find him there so late.”

Season starts April 1!

Good luck to the TBL managers in 2016!
