Boys of Summer APBA League reaches 100-game mark of 2014 season

We’re about at the 100-game mark in the Boys of Summer APBA League.  How are my Urbana Locomotives doing???

Kudos to Bill Gillam and his South Shore Fighting Imps in the AL East.  They have the top record in the entire league at 65-33.  Even my Locos get intimidated when they have to face the Imps.  Despite the Imps’ winning record, they have the closest rivals with Larry Waddell’s Boston Bravos just 6 1/2 games behind.

Brad Stark’s Portland Microbrewers are seeing similar results at 60-39 in the NL West.  It’s a totally different story though in the AL West with the Carolina Eagles fighting it out neck and neck with the Fairgrove Tigers.  Right now, they’re tied at 56-43.

Brad notes correctly that the wild card race in the National League is pretty awesome.

Four games separate four teams in that division.

Many thanks to commissioner Shawn Baier who has put a lot of work into this league.  Unfortunately, his Traverse City Panthers haven’t seen much success with a 31-67 record.

Sixty games left this season for my Urbana Locomotives!

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as a frequent participant of the Chicagoland APBA Tournament. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.
