Getting Championed over Skype

Nothing like getting beat 5 games to 1 over Skype.  Teddy and his Champions ate me up like this morning’s breakfast today while we played our March series for the Illowa APBA League.

Maybe I was paying too much attention to the Illinois baseball game in the background (they won 11-3, yay) but it was a question of not enough offense.  Specifically, not executing.  Countless times. my Thunderchickens would get runners on base only to leave them stranded.

Meanwhile, we got good pitching only to not have them rewarded.  Scott “D plain” Olsen advanced to an A only to get the loss.

My one highlight was getting to Matt Cain who up to this point in the season was 5-0 with 3 shutouts and a sub 0.50 ERA.  I don’t have the score sheet in front of me but we scored at least eight against Cain.

Despite our five losses, it was still a fun time and sure beat playing by mail.

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as a frequent participant of the Chicagoland APBA Tournament. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.

2 Comments:

  1. Matt had a 0.20 ERA before getting drubbed by the T*Chix

  2. BTW, nice SKYPE picture of me
