Big news from Boys of Summer APBA League commissioner Shawn Baier.  Scott Diamond who pitches for Bill Gillam’s South Shore Fighting Imps, has pitched the league first perfect game!

All,

Got the word from Bill — 27 Up, 27 Down! Scott Diamond of the South Shore Fighting Imps pitches a perfect game against the Washington Filibusters in the Boys of Summer APBA Baseball League. The Imps won 1-0 with Joe Mauer hitting an RBI single in the bottom of the 8th! It’s the league’s first PERFECT GAME & the league’s second no-hitter.

The feat happened during the 2nd game of their series against Washington.

Congrats to Bill Gillam, Scott Diamond & the South Shore Fighting Imps!

Diamond is 7-3 with a 3.50 ERA for the Fighting Imps so far in the league season based on the 2012 season.  His pitching is having an effect on the Imps’ fantastic season.  So far they are in first place with a 45-24 record.  In fact, the Imps are the (ahem) the only team in the BoS League with a better record than my Urbana Locomotives (43-25).

Nice going, Bill!
