Happy Dick Seitz Day! Like many people around the world, my brother Kevin and I have been home a lot lately. A global pandemic and self-quarantining can do that…and bring about moments of reflection (and more time for APBA gaming.) Since October 2019 we’ve been recording our Double Take podcast on Anchor.fm. We’ve had success mixing in elements of sports, pop culture, the Beatles, and of course, APBA baseball. However, after our recent interview with Tom Nelshoppen on episode 21, we realized we needed to narrow our show’s subject matter.
So, our plan from this point forward is to focus on APBA gaming. We love the APBA gaming community and enjoy talking and writing about it. Consequently, this week we adjusted our logo, show description, and slogan. We are now Double Take: An APBA Gaming Podcast. Starting with our next episode, #23, we’ll focus on APBA news, trends, card analysis, product releases, tournaments, leagues, and more. We also intend to bring guests on the show, like we did with Tom Nelshoppen.
By no means does this mean we’re trying to supplant or interfere with John Asalon’s splendid This Week in APBA (TWIA) podcast. Instead, we’re hoping to supplement the podcast offerings for APBA gaming hobbyists. Plus, let’s be honest, it’s not like there’s an overabundance of APBA podcasts being produced. One more pretty much doubles the total.
Double Take is available basically everywhere podcasts are distributed. So, please consider subscribing on your favorite podcast app. We’d love it if you joined us!

To commemorate the shift, we put together a sort of “greatest hits” of APBA talk from our previous episodes, Episode 22 – Best APBA Gaming Takes, Vol. 1. We know it’s long, but it seemed more convenient for new APBA community listeners to put everything in one place.
I for one welcome more APBA talk on your podcast, Kirk. Buuuut. I’m not a big Beatles fan, but have gotten used to your chronological album review you’ve done on most of your podcasts. Won’t you guys be saddened not to finish when you’re so close to the end? Then you can start a review of all the Rush albums :) Go Green! My Dad is an alumn. Born in Bad Axe, now he lives in Battle Creek. Keep up the good work.
