Finalizing my rosters for my Terribles vs. Monsters project

mcmtctaI have the final rosters for my Terribles vs Monsters project!  But one little thing to tidy up first…

I’m calling it Bloggers’ Choice.  I decided that Scott Fennessy and I have free reign to choose one player for each team.  It could be any player written about that hasn’t been chosen already.  Call it manager’s discretion.  Now, here are the two players that we chose:

Monsters Bloggers’ Choice-  1941 Ted Williams

Yeah, you probably saw that coming.  He’s the last player to hit .400 and was given a monster card to end them all.  I just need to convince Ted to get over my simple oversight.

You know how he gets with the media sometimes.  ;-)

Terribles Bloggers’ Choice- 1901 Bill Bergen

Scott chose catcher Bill Bergen on his reputation of having one of the worst lifetime batting averages over an entire career (1901-1911).  In those eleven years, he batted over .200 only once and had a .170 lifetime average in 3028 at-bats.

However, he must have been doing something right to have played over a decade.

Now introducing the Tuesday Terribles..

Thomas Nelshoppen

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as a frequent participant of the Chicagoland APBA Tournament. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.
