Terribles vs Monsters Poll: Vote for Terribles secondbaseman!

It looks like a lot of you had fun with the Monsters firstbasemen poll.  Now get ready for some weak hitting middle infielders as we head into the second basemen and shortstops.  We’ll start with the Terribles’ secondbasemen (more info here on the TCT-MCM project).

It’s an interesting field with one representative from the 60s, 70s, 80s and the 90s each.  There’s also a Hall of Famer in this poll who was later a teammate of Johnny Bench who already won the poll for the Terribles catcher.

The other three are sorely lacking in on-base skills.  Each of them have just one 14 each.  At least they have a power number.

Each player’s name is linked to his original Monster Card Monday article written about him and his APBA card associated with it.

Monsters Team nominee

APBA card breakdown

1964 Joe Morgan 2B-5, 7-7-8-8-8-9-9, four 14s
1978 Jerry Terrell 2B-7, 0-7-8-8-9-9, one 14
1981 Vance Law 2B-7, 0-8-8-8-9-9, one 14
1991 Tito Bell 2B-6, 0-0-8-8-8-9-9, one 14

It’s your turn to vote!

By the way, the Terribles first base poll has concluded.  Here are the results:

As I expected, 2011 Adam Dunn ran away with it.  He outpolled the other two combined.

There’s still a couple days to vote for the Monsters firstbaseman if you haven’t already!

thanks all!

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as a frequent participant of the Chicagoland APBA Tournament. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.

One Comment:

  1. a whopping 4-14s or not….2B-5 and a 7-7 take it for me.
