Don George is continuing his series of single-team APBA replays. This time, he has replayed the 1927 Chicago Cubs full season.
The Cubs finished at 76-77, a few games shy of their real life record in 1927. Slugger Hack Wilson hit .321 with 32 dingers.
Here are a few words from Don:
I recently finished my 27th single team season replay: the 1927 Chicago Cubs.
While the Cubs undershot their actual W/L total by nine games, stars Riggs Stephenson, Hack Wilson and Charlie Root did not disappoint.Interestingly, Root was assigned Grade A,X (MG-17) despite an actual 3.76 ERA.
Artie Nehf was of interest too as he was assigned Grade D,X (MG-5) which is reasonable given his 4.02 ERA and 10.5 H9. But Nehf was traded to the Cubs late in the year and posted a 1.37 ERA for the Cubs over 26.1 innings. In hindsight, I should have assigned Nehf Grade A, X,Y (MG-18) with an ‘H’ HR stopper!
Next up are the 1979 Cincinnati Reds.

I’m really looking forward to the 1979 Reds replay. Such a good team.
Great writeup and fun to read. Well done and great approach to conducting replays. Rod Caborn
