Last week, I posted Scott Fennessy’s recap of his 1904 AL replay. Now, it’s time to look at his NL replay of that season.
Scott has written up a pretty good summary of the replay (read it here!). From the looks of it, it was a pretty tight race. The Cincinnati Reds (88-52) took it from the Giants and the Cubs.
Not surprisingly, Honus Wagner (.355, 91 rbis) had a good year for Pittsburgh winning the MVP award. Christy Mathewson (22-12, 2.38 ERA, 6 SHO) who Scott has a forever APBA bond, won Pitcher of the Year.
