The APBA Blog sponsors the ‘Count’

Like many baseball fans, I use the stats website, Baseball Reference pretty much on a daily basis.  It’s one of the most useful baseball statistics sites out there.  With the amount of times I quote stats, it really adds value to The APBA Blog.   It was time to give a little back.

I had been thinking of sponsoring a B-R page on behalf of The APBA Blog for a while (I have for the Illinois Baseball Report for years) but when I saw that Paul Dylan had sponsored Mario Mendoza’s B-R page in the name of his Puccinelli-APBA-Cardmost excellent blog One for Five, that had shamed me into finally taking action.

I already knew whose page would be bearing the name of The APBA Blog.  George “Count” Puccinelli is a mostly unknown baseball player to most fans UNLESS you happen to be a member of the APBA community.  His 1930 card is legendary and is one of the first I chose for my Monster Card Monday series

So I virtually plopped down a small amount of cash (worth every penny for all the enjoyment I get from Baseball Reference) and sponsored George Puccinelli’s Baseball Reference page

So thanks Paul for pushing me into taking action.  I’m sure B-R thanks you, too.

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as a frequent participant of the Chicagoland APBA Tournament. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.
