Trying to play APBA matchmaker

apbalI wrote this league profile about the A.P.B.A.L not too long ago.  It turns out they are now looking for a new manager.

Hugh Brown says:

The APBA League is seeking a manager for its 2016-17 season (September-March). The league plays a 66 game schedule with series scheduled once a week using BBW.

The manager will need to own and be familiar with the 3.75 APBA computer game. The league’s web site is apbal.com. For more information e-mail Hugh at .

Also, reader Mark S. has been playing APBA baseball for over thirty years and is interested in any leagues in the Fort Worth, Texas area.  Leave a comment if you can help Mark.  He’d love to roll some bones with someone.

For Mark and anyone else trying to connect up with others playing APBA, here are a few suggestions.  The APBA-Between the Lines forum is a good way to touch base with APBA folks.

Also, if you’re on Facebook, join the APBA Baseball group.  There are tons of APBA fans who love to chat about the game.  Dom Provisiero occasionally hosts a roll call so we all get a good idea where we hail from.

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as a frequent participant of the Chicagoland APBA Tournament. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.

to Mark S., I feel your pain. but the metroplex is so huge, you’d think there’s a lot of apba players. I come from AR 2-3 times a year to visit brother in Arlington. not enough to be an opponent, but I wish someone down there would organize a tournament. I’d be there. Erik S.
