An OFAS Sweet 16 Tournament

Nothing better to get you through the cold winter than a good ol’ fashioned sweet 16 baseball tournament using the Original Franchise All Stars set.  And that’s exactly what Gene Carney did.  He blogs in depth about his final series between the NL champs Chicago Cubs and the AL champions Detroit Tigers on the baseball site seamheads.com.

Scroll down a bit on the page and you’ll see some of the modifications he made to APBA’s pitching system to compensate for the super hitting lineups in his tournament.

Next up for Gene:  a deadball vs sluggers tournament.

Thomas Nelshoppen

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as a frequent participant of the Chicagoland APBA Tournament. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.
