Breaking: Bruce Tyler wins TCABT-VI with 1930 Cardinals

I’m going on rumor here but news on the grapevine has it that Bruce Tyler and his 1930 St. Louis Cardinals won the Neil Ess Memorial Twin Cities Area APBA Tournament this past weekend.

Almost as incredible is that the man he beat in the championship game was Leroy Arnoldi (and his 1977 Phillies).  Had Leroy somehow beat Bruce in the final, it would have been three straight championships for him.  Tournament organizer Jim Fraasch promised a recap of the tourney so expect one in a couple of days.

This was the SIXTH TCABT and there is no sign of them slowing down.  Their next one is scheduled for April 1, 2017.

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as a frequent participant of the Chicagoland APBA Tournament. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.
