Clear your calendar… here’s the APBA Tournament lineup

Kurt Bergland is hosting a tourney in Wisconsin

This is just a quick run down of APBA tournaments. I encourage you to check out this excellent Boys of Summer article which covers a lot of the current APBA tournaments and includes a lot more details (thanks Shawn!). Because boy, there are a lot of them going on!

Darrell Skogen opens his house to over 30 APBA fans for the Neil Ess Memorial Twin Cities APBA Baseball Tournament XII (wow, that’s 12!!). Jim’s APBA Barn has the latest info with participation and team selection. October 5, 2019 is the magic date.

Darren Schulz sends me info on the upcoming Linda B. Schulz Memorial APBA Baseball Tournament. In Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania, there will be a total of 50 participants scheduled to play on October 12th.

I think LBS has to be one of highest attended tourneys on consistent basis. That says a lot about organizers Darren and Ken Schulz.

Below are the esteemed individuals who will be participating with their teams.

As G.F. Korreck announced at the Chicagoland Tournament, he is continuing the tradition with the 2nd Annual Furniture City APBA Baseball Tournament in Grand Rapids, Michigan. That will take place on October 26th.

Kurt Bergland (that’s him at the top) is organizing the 2019 APBA Wisconsin Fall Tournament set in the Milwaukee area on November 9th.

Stray Corrado is starting a new tournament! If I know Stray, it will be fun and feature rich. Taking place on November 9th, he’s calling it the The 1st Bath City APBA Baseball Tournament. I’m always glad to see new tourneys spring up. If you’re interested, point your browser to the BCABT web site and sign up.

[Adding another one] Rich Zawadski (above) is another tourney organizer who knows how to pack them in! He’s scheduling his 6th Annual Greater Michigan APBA Baseball Tournament in Jackson, Michigan for March 7, 2020. If you’re on Facebook, sign up if up for a good time!!

Finally, this is for those who plan their schedule ahead of time. Chris White has scheduled his 2020 Vegas APBA Baseball Championship. July 30-August 1, 2020 are the reserved dates.

For all those participating, good luck!!

Thomas Nelshoppen

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as a frequent participant of the Chicagoland APBA Tournament. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.
