Jim Fraasch has a great update on TCABT-VI on the “Barn”

First, thanks to Ron Emch for providing this YouTube video of the playoff announcements at the Neil Ess Memorial Twin Cities APBA Baseball Tournament this past weekend.  Check out Ron’s YouTube channel.  Lots of good stuff!

Tournament organizer Jim Fraasch has already updated his blog, Jim’s APBA Barn with a comprehensive update on TCABT-VI including photos, standings and great stories.

Championship game between Bruce and Leroy

Jim has a particularly interesting numbers feature.  Apparently, there were 2 no-hitters in the tournament as well as two more broken up in the ninth inning.  There were also two triple plays both hit into by Albert Belle.

Congratulations again to Bruce Tyler who took the 1930 Cardinals all the way in the TCABT-VI tourney.  Leroy Arnoldi almost made it three in a row with the 1977 Phillies but Bruce’s Cardinals defeated him by scores of 9-7 and 8-5.

Great job on another successful convention, Jim!!

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as a frequent participant of the Chicagoland APBA Tournament. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.

  1. Congratulations to Bruce Tyler! I played against him in a few of the previous Twin Cities tournaments and he is a really great guy!
