Ruth’s perfect game during scrimmage bodes well for Bob Winenger

Bob Winenger is ready for the Chicagoland tourney!

Bob writes:

While playing practice games with my 2025 Chicagoland team pick (1915 Boston Red Sox), Babe Ruth just pitched a PERFECT GAME vs the 1961 Yankees (another manager’s pick for Chicago) and “Whitey” Ford!

For those who don’t know Bob, he is the organizer of the South Bend APBA Tournament. SBAT is having its second annual tournament on June 7, 2025. The theme is 100 loss teams so you will have to work for your win!

For those interested, please contact Bob Winenger at .

You can a list of upcoming APBA tournaments at the APBA Regional Tournament Schedule.

Thank you APBA Games for embracing regional tournaments!

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as a frequent participant of the Chicagoland APBA Tournament. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.

  1. Thank you very much for the tournament plug!

  2. Back in 2004, Brandon Webb hurled two consecutive no-hitters in our league. One was a perfect game. The manager did it against his brother, too!

I don’t recall having a pitcher with a perfect game myself.
