Just look at this card. Even one look at it and you can tell it’s a Terrible Tuesday card. Look out or I’ll continue using this awful pun!
This is Dean Look from the 1961 White Sox. I ran across him as I took over the Sox in my BBW replay. At 23-13, the Sox are in first after 36 games above Detroit, Baltimore and even New York (hey, at least the Cardinals are no longer leading the NL!). That prompted me to take their reins for a few series and see what makes them tick. Obviously, Look isn’t behind their success but the Sox do have stars such as Jim Landis, Luis Aparicio and Minnie Minoso.
No, Dean Look didn’t play much for the ‘61 Sox. In his only year in the majors, he went 0 for 6 with one strikeout.

Not only is Look is cursed with an OF-1 but only two 8s to go with his two 9s. On the bright side, he hits As and Bs as good as Cs and Ds. He does have a 66-6 and an 11-7. However, that gives him a 15-40 and a strikeout at 25.
It is interesting with Look’s hitless season, that he got any hits (or a 14) on his card at all, especially a 66-6 and a 11-7.
Ugly numbers: 25-13, 15-40, 44-9
As with a lot of Terrible cards, we see some oddball results on numbers we might expect to see 13s such as 24-29, 42-32, and 64-30.
How is Look doing in my replay? I probably need to send him to the minors. Before I took over the team, clueless BBW micromanager Duke Robinson Jr has been using him a fair amount. Right now, Look is 4 for 32 with a double and a triple and 6 rbis in 12 games. Not bad all things considered.
Wow. That’s gotta be one of the worst non pitchers card I have ever seen.
…but really better than he should be. How did he get a 66-6?
