Terrible Card Tuesday: 1963 Jim Duckworth

This one’s going to be a quickie since I’m running out of time this week but it’s well deserved.  Scott Veatch had recommended 1963 Jim Duckworth as a Terrible Card for a while but I resisted since, you know, he’s a pitcher after all.  There are plenty of DWs out there.

Tonight in Game 5 of my Monsters vs. Terribles series, Duckworth made his second start against 1913 Walter Johnson and The Big Train had the Terribles on the ropes.  Early in the game, I rolled a 45 on Ducky and thought “Great, the Terribles have a baserunner.”

Nope, Duckworth has a 45-13 there.  Really?  And that came right after rolling a 66-8 on Jackie Hernanadez.

And for the record, 1963 Jim Duckworth really did deserve that DW.

I am an IT consultant by day and an APBA media mogul by night. My passions are baseball (specifically Illini baseball), photography and of course, APBA. I have been fortunate to be part of the basic game Illowa APBA League since 1980 as well as a frequent participant of the Chicagoland APBA Tournament. I am slogging through a 1966 NL replay and hope to finish before I die.
